ADVOCACY
The Ontario Trails Preservation Alliance (OTPA) is actively engaged in trail advocacy across the province, regularly hosting and attending key events such as Queen’s Park Days and the Rural Ontario Municipal Association (ROMA) Conference.
These events provide vital opportunities for the OTPA—representing KATVA, OFTR, OF4WD, and HATVA—to connect with municipal and provincial leaders, share the value of motorized trail recreation, and advocate for responsible, sustainable trail use. By participating in these forums, the OTPA strengthens partnerships, influences policy, and promotes the preservation and growth of Ontario’s diverse trail network.
QUEEN’S PARK DAY
Representatives from OFTR, KATVA, HATVA & OF4WD hosted a Queen’s Park Day in May 2025. We met with Ministers Todd McCarthy and Mike Harris as well as MPP’s including Chris Glover, Mary-Margaret McMahon and Ernie Harden to discuss lots of important topics from the importance of protecting existing trail uses, to expanding access for riders across the province.
ROMA CONFERENCE
Representatives of the Ontario Trails Preservation Alliance (OTPA) attended the Rural Ontario Municipal Association (ROMA) Conference to engage with municipal leaders from across the province. Their participation provided an important opportunity to advocate for the sustainable management of Ontario’s motorized trail systems, highlight the economic and recreational benefits of trail tourism, and strengthen collaborative relationships with rural municipalities.
